Twin Shadow is the stage name of American musician George Lewis Jr. Lewis was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Florida. Around 2000, he moved to Boston and started the band Mad Man Films alongside Joseph Ciampini (drums) (of Hooray For Earth), and Zak Longo (bass) of Before Lazers. Mad Man Films released two records independently. Around 2006, Lewis relocated to Brooklyn, NY and adopted the Twin Shadow moniker. In 2010 he released his debut album Forget, produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. The album has been described as "steeped in 1980s new wave", "building from streaks of haunting synth textures", having "sophisticated melodies", "R&B intimacy", and "poetic lyrics", and "hazily new wave-tinged pop".Twin Shadow was the Rolling Stone 'Band of the Week' on October 7, 2010. Twin Shadow played Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2011, Sasquatch Music Festival in May 2011, San Miguel Primavera Sound in May 2011 and both Pitchfork Music Festival and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June 2011. He supported Florence and the Machine at certain performances during their 2011 U.S. Tour.

Plaid is a London-based British electronic music duo comprising Andy Turner and Ed Handley. They are former members of The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic (Andrew Turner) and Balil (Ed Handley), before settling on Plaid. They have collaborated with female singers Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Björk, and have released records on the labels Clear, Peacefrog, Black Dog Productions, and Warp Records (along with Trent Reznor's label Nothing Records). Aside from their own material, Plaid have done extensive remix work for many other artists, including Red Snapper, Björk, Goldfrapp, and The Irresistible Force. Parts in the Post (2003) contains just a handful of Plaid's remix work to date. Plaid often works collaboratively with video artist Bob Jaroc, whose animations often accompanied the music during live performances. They have developed a DVD consisting of new material and video artwork to accompany the music, entitled Greedy Baby. The project was completed on July 20, 2005, and was first shown at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the South Bank Centre, and subsequently at the BFI Imax cinema in Waterloo, London. Greedy Baby was released on DVD from Warp Records on June 26, 2006. In 2006, Plaid composed and performed the original score to Michael Arias's anime film Tekkon Kinkreet, and then went on to rejoin Arias for his second feature, Heaven's Door, as well as two of his subsequent short films. In 2009 they contributed a cover of a Plone song to the Warp20 (Recreated) compilation.
Moderat is an electronic music project that originated in Berlin, Germany. It started as a collaboration between Sascha Ring, also known as Apparat, and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, also known as Modeselektor. Their first full length album was released seven years after their first EP, due to some creative disagreements and different opinions on how they should work. The new album has received mostly favorable reviews. NOW Magazine gave the album 4 out of 5 points describing it as "quite creative and surprisingly catchy", and Urb [2] 5 out of 5, praising it for being "extremely beautiful and catchy". They toured Europe throughout the summer and autumn of 2010, playing mostly festivals. In 2009, the readers of popular online electronic music magazine, Resident Advisor, voted Moderat The #1 Live Act Of The Year. In 2010, they were voted The #7 Live Act by the leaders of the same website.
Apparat is the stage name for Sascha Ring, a German electronic musician living in Berlin and was previously a co-owner of Shitkatapult records. Starting out with dance floor-oriented techno, he later started to create ambient music and more recently became "more interested in designing sounds than beats". In 2004, he appeared at a John Peel session. The tracks from this session were rerecorded and reworked in the studio and released as Silizium EP in 2005, as a tribute. He collaborated with Ellen Allien in 2003 on the album Berlinette, and again in 2006 on the album Orchestra of Bubbles. In 2007, he formed his own band to play the album Walls live. Raz Ohara joined him playing the stage piano and Jörg Waehner on drums. Next to playing these live shows, he continued to play his solo live sets, touring with Transforma Visuals. In May 2009, he released the self-titled album with Modeselektor under the name Moderat on BPitch Control. They have collaborated previously on an EP named Auf Kosten Der Gesundheit which was released as a limited 12" in 2002. In April 2009, he received the Qwartz Dancefloor (Electronic Music Award). Apparat's single "Holdon" features in the trailer for the 2010 Teton Gravity Research ski film Light The Wick. In 2011, he signed with the British Mute Records label, where he released his new record The Devil's Walk, named after a political poem by romantic English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, in September. His track "Goodbye", featuring Soap&Skin, was featured in a climatic scene in the Season 4 finale of Breaking Bad. His track "Black Water", was featured in episode 2 in series 6 of Skins (TV series).
Crystal Castles are a Canadian electronic band formed in 2004 in Toronto, consisting of producer Ethan Kath and lyricist and vocalist Alice Glass. Crystal Castles are known for their chaotic live shows and their lo-fi home productions. The duo released many limited EPs between 2006 and 2007, and two eponymous albums in 2008 and 2010 to widespread critical acclaim. Their debut album was included in NME's "Top 100 Greatest Albums of the Decade" list at #39.
Com Truise is the stage name of Seth Haley, an American electronic musician originally from Oneida, New York, and later, Princeton, New Jersey. Com Truise's synthesizer-heavy production work, influenced by 1980s musical styles, was first offered on the Cyanide Sisters EP, which was initially a free download from the AM Discs label[2] and was reissued digitally by Ghostly International. A remix of his appeared on the Tron: Legacy Reconfigured album soon after. In June 2011 he released his first full-length album, Galactic Melt.
